Hanhart Admiral-Perfect Pilot Watch

by Timepiece Atelier on Feb 20th, 2020

In the horology world of pilot chronograph watches, one simply cannot disregard German manufactures, especially Hanhart, which has specialized in this field for many years. Many die-hard fans already know the legend of Hanhart’s signature red pusher chronographs but what about those with no red pushers at all? Are they still as desirable as the classic red pusher chronograph timepieces from Hanhart? Do they perform as well as the stereotypical Hanhart watches? So without further ado, let’s dive straight into one of the more unfamiliar collections of Hanhart-The Admiral.

The Hanhart Admiral has a unique vintage charm that draws people to it. It is built in a simple yet robust case that measures 40mm x 15mm with screw down stainless steel case back. The cases are made of sturdy steel cases, nicely brushed with a dark grey PVD treatment to avoid reflections and provide that vintage military feel. The timepiece has all the classic attributes of Hanhart chronographs and stopwatches, with their signature continuously rotatable fluted bezel with a red marker so pilots would remember the position they left it in. A matte black base, large white Arabic numerals and highly contrasted tracks, bold propeller-shaped hands with a fair amount of Super-LumiNova. Overall, the layout is designed to be legible and straightforward with lume applied to the hands and markers.

It has a screw-on case back and crown which aids in water resistance as the threaded winding crown screws tightly into the case and protects the case from any form of dust and water. The watch has 100 metre water resistance and has a sapphire crystal front and back for scratch resistance – making it the top choice for a fine aviation timepiece. Powered by the fan favoured automatic Swiss Chronograph movement 7760 modified and decorated generously with a 40 hour power reserve. The Hanhart Admiral comes with two different versions in black or white dial and has two different straps too, a classic stainless steel bracelet for an everyday look or a brown leather strap for a strong vintage look.

We all know that Hanhart does not mess around when it comes to aviation watches. The Hanhart Admiral collection was highly valued by pilots and remains one of the most popular collections. The price for the admiral watch is really reasonable as well, in fact, one of the most affordable vintage-flavored timepieces we have seen in a while. It has a sale price of S$3,036.00 at timepiece atelier. (Original price S$5,060.00) If you need a faithful and dependable “flying partner” then the Hanhart Admiral timepiece is really the one for you.
