At some point in life, we all have to face our deepest fears, had we overcome them, we could break our own limits. Thus, Edox challenges us to fight our greatest fears, just like Christian Redl. Inspired by the legendary diver-Christian Redl, EDOX designed the optimum dive watch to brave through the toughest of conditions – EDOX Sharkman II Limited Edition.
In February, the EDOX Sharkman II Limited Edition collaborated with Christian Redl in his challenge to break his under-ice-free dive record at Lake Weissensee in Austria. Christian Reld had to overcome the limit of holding his breath under water and withstand the bitter cold surroundings of the location. This impossible mission has similar qualities with Edox ethos- Power, Perseverance, and Prowess. To help Christsian Reld overcome his challenge, Edox have designed a valuable timepiece to aid his mission. Fortunately, the watch performed remarkably, and this prestigious event has been proudly added to Edox's rich history.
The EDOX Sharkman II Limited Edition is constructed at a sturdy and generous size of 45mm and features a chronograph function, making it a perfect timepiece for divers. The watch is housed with a 3mm sapphire crystal that is scratch resistant and screw-in crown and pushers for added security. In addition, it features a date display and uses a high-quality ceramic uni-directional bezel to enhance durability and shock resistance. Furnished with a spectacular water resistance of 100ATM/ 1000m with an automatic helium release valve, Edox demonstrated superb engineering by pushing it’s capabilities in their design and technicity again.
To show appreciation and commendation for Christian Redl, the case back of the EDOX Sharkman II Limited Edition engraved a diver and shark with an inscribed quote ‘FACE YOUR FEAR’.
Together with the Sharkman II Limited Edition timepiece are 3 other limited-edition designs. Each colour rendition is seen with vivid colours which include the mysterious midnight ice blue, flamboyant orange, vintage brown and classic gold. Each limited edition colour is limited to 300 pieces worldwide. The watch is also stored in a special Sharkman box and comes with an additional rubber strap, exchangeable with the leather strap paired with the watch.
