Edox has been experimenting with chronographs ever since it became the Official Timekeeper of the Class-1 Powerboat Championship. It is no doubt that Edox has been challenging itself and continues to draw inspiration from this competition. Its dedication to break boundaries has made the horological community and Class-1 Powerboat fans continue to invest time and money in this unique Edox CO-1 collection.

Personally, out of all the Edox CO-1 collections, this collection’s design is clearly the best. The Edox CO-1 Professional Automatic Mesh watch oozes drive, robustness and authority, resembling the rawness and the euphoric ambience of the Class-1 Powerboat races. The noteworthy feature of this collection (which I absolutely adore) is the mesh-centre design on the watch dial, mimicking that of the mesh guard on powerboats. The mesh on the dial allows a geeky insight into a crazy horological feat by admiring the beauty intricate mechanical parts of the watch within the timepiece. The parts were put together seamlessly – an attribute of a high-quality Swiss-made timepiece. The watch features a signature big ‘1’ index on the dial, marking its alliance with the Powerboat Class-1 races.

To meet the high expectations from fans, this collection comes with a black polished ceramic unidirectional rotating bezel, a reminder that timing is of utmost importance when it comes to the Class-1 Powerboat races. Also keeping in mind that the Powerboat drivers and teams are constantly on the move, the markers on the bezel are designed to be large and highly visible. Moreover, the ceramic bezel and sapphire crystal ensure durability and scratch resistance for the racers. The dial is made up of lumed indices and classic pencil-shaped hands. The case back is made of 361 L stainless steel which could weather tough conditions and has an impressive water resistance of 500m, perfect for divers.

Paired with black rubber straps embossed with the Edox hourglass logo, this collection comes in three colours, namely green, red and rosegold. These colours are evident through the watch indexes and the signature big ‘1’.

Whether you’re a professional athlete, a novice or seasoned diver or about to plunge into the water for the first time, this robust and aesthetically pleasing timepiece could upgrade your subaquatic adventure to the next level. Nonetheless, You can get this superb watch purely because of its aesthetic too!
