The Dornier DoX was the largest seaplane ever built, a vision turned into reality. Its creator, Claude Dornier, was a man ahead of his time with his most ambitious project being the construction of the imposing Dornier Do.X, a large seaplane that could be compared to a real flying ship.
 
Aiming to pay homage to Dornier's fame with a chronograph, Irén Dornier, Claude's granddaughter and airline owner, turned to Hanhart, a pioneer in creating stop watches. The collaboration gave rise to an exclusive pilot's chronograph, whose newly developed technical perfection corresponded to Claude Dornier's idea of ​​the seaplane.
