Chrono-offshore timepieces must meet very demanding criteria and feature technical aspects such as a pure ceramic bezel, stated water resistance or carbon dials, emphasizing Edox tradition and know-how on building and engineering watches for high level and offshore competition. Ceramic, which is the material for the bezel, is a non-metallic and anti-allergenic mineral material twice as hard as stainless steel and virtually scratch resistant. The helium escape valve opens and closes automatically, allowing excess pressure to escape with water resistant to depths of 300 to 1000 metres.
